Not every source on this page belongs to the Tribunal — a covenant's own Seisins and Legacies aren't listed here at all. Only the shared, Tribunal-owned categories below are.
Tourney winners may also take volumes from the Tribunal library; those volumes, and any copies made of them, remain Tribunal property. Raiding another covenant's non-magical goods is, per Normandy custom, technically legal.
Vis sources requiring minimal effort to harvest. Distributed among Tribunal members on seven-year leases through the Hermetic Tourney. The holder of a lease has exclusive rights to harvest.
Vis sources requiring significant effort, skill, or danger to harvest. Any magus may attempt them, but success confers no exclusive rights in subsequent years. Winning a luctatio is a feat in itself.
A complete record of known Tribunal vis sources for reference at council. Sources marked as "Proposed" are newly identified and not yet entered into the official Tribunal record at Confluensis.

Books donated to the Tribunal as a whole, following the practice established by Perpauca Bonisagi. Available to all member covenants. Canonical entries are from The Lion & the Lily; suggested additions fill gaps in the collection.
Sjórseiðr's Certamen ended in the first round; Dimicatio and Hastiludium both carried them all the way to a semifinal/final that the GM's own bracket sheet never filled in (see the Storyteller page's open question on this). Opponents below are marked accordingly — this is prep material, not a claim that every round was played out in full.
The PC's draw was brutal on paper (Fudarus → Confluensis → Bellum Iocari → Merces Aurea), but the actual bracket has Sjórseiðr losing round one — so only the first opponent was ever faced. The other three are preserved here as unused prep.
“Your parens did you a disservice, teaching you comfort before teaching you struggle. I will remedy that.”
Predatory calm, unsettling Piercing Gaze, barely speaks before a duel. Wincing and teeth-grinding betray her Painful Magic flaw with every spell. Fudarus was humiliated by Scarem Montem's dimicatio win, and Myrrha carries that shame — desperate to redeem her covenant. Picks Intellego or Rego as Technique to force the fight into her Mentem 9; will burn Fatigue via Life Boost and save a Confidence point for the critical exchange.
“The records of Confluensis go back four centuries. I have studied every certamen in our archives. I know how this ends.”
Treats certamen as a legal proceeding — recites rules with pedantic exactness. His Side Effect virtue means lying causes visible discomfort, so he can't bluff. Curse of Venus makes him socially awkward despite Hermetic Prestige. Wins on attrition with Intellego 15; his Forms (5–6) are the opening, if a challenger can force one.
“Florum thought their centuries of experience mattered more than preparation. They were wrong. Now — shall we?”
Just upset Florum, one of the Five Great Lieges, and is riding the momentum — young, ambitious, and genuinely enjoying himself. His Minor Magical Focus adds his lower Art again to any elemental-Form total, which is devastating; his Mentem is only 1, the one clean opening.
“The Five Lieges have ruled by tradition, not merit. I am here to demonstrate the difference.”
Already crushed the other half of the bracket, decisively beating Cunfin in his side's final. Every win is propaganda for the separatist cause — his Dwarf flaw and Faerie Blood are visible and he doesn't care. Terram 15 makes him near-unbeatable on his own ground; outside it, Mentem and Imaginem are both 0.
Sjórseiðr won three straight rounds here, reaching a semifinal against Nidi that the GM's bracket sheet leaves blank (see the Storyteller page). All four opponents below were live prep, not discarded brainstorm.
“Fudarus expects results. We will not disappoint them.” [nervous swallow]
Likely champion Cadoc (young, overconfident) or Herve (a hastiludium specialist fighting to redeem an earlier decisive loss). The name means "anticipation" — upstarts waiting for their chance.
“The law is merely the framework within which conflict is permitted. Shall we test the boundaries?”
Champion Reynard, a Tytalus magus serving a Guernicus vassal — notable enough on its own. Won their own sudden-death certamen tiebreaker against Exspectatio, suggesting quick thinking under pressure.
“We have watched the Tribunal for fifty years. We have seen every trick. Show us something new.”
Champion Vigilus (former Quaesitor) or Sentinus (Tremere ward specialist). Expect excellent fast-cast defenses from a covenant built around watching and waiting.
Oleron themselves were dominating the other half of this bracket via Berenguer de Tolosa (Flambeau, dimicatio master) — "beautiful, fluid southern French style." Nidi, as Oleron's own vassal, may have faced their liege in the semifinal on the other side of the draw. Berenguer: "In Provence, we call this art. In Normandy, you call it combat. We shall see which interpretation prevails."
Three magi per side, balanced on a peasant-village item (barrel, cauldron, pig — no longer than a broom, no wider than a beer barrel), using magic to propel and unseat. Touch ground, you're out. Sjórseiðr had a natural edge here as sailors with sea-legs, and won three straight before the same semifinal gap hits (q021).
“We have hosted this Tribunal with honor. Now we shall defend it with valor. The heirs of William the Conqueror do not yield the field.”
Montverte could not afford to lose another event, having already dropped a dimicatio tiebreaker to Semita Errabunda — desperate, possibly mistake-prone, but also drawing on a strong Norman mounted-combat tradition as hosts. See t032 for the unresolved alliance-offer thread this opponent seeds.
Fielded Argentius (silver crafting) and Ferrus (metal specialist) alongside Lunara (Criamon). Expect metal manipulation — silver or iron mounts, exceptional Terram/metal magic on both offense and defense.
Lost their own certamen match to Requies Aeterna on a penalty (Maurice's "creative interpretation" of seniority rules) and were demanding a formal hearing. Fulbert is furious. Expect extra aggression from a covenant that feels cheated.
Champion Petronius (Merinita) uses pre-Schism War strategies that predate the current Peripheral Code — technically legal, deeply unsettling to face.
